  • Can I get a repair or do I need a replacement?

    keyboard_arrow_down

We will always choose to repair, if possible. This keeps your costs down and makes for a quicker completion time.

Please note that we can only repair front windscreens if the chip or crack is smaller than a one-dollar coin. All other windscreen damage, broken side-door glass panels and rear windows require replacement.

  • Do you offer same or next-day services?

    keyboard_arrow_down

We often perform the same or next-day services. However, the main factor that affects this timeframe is the availability of the glass, parts or other materials required for your service. Fortunately, we have a large auto glass inventory in our warehouse, which allows us to provide fast service.

  • Do you provide a warranty?

    keyboard_arrow_down

Yes. We provide a lifetime warranty on all workmanship giving you total peace of mind. This means we will repair any defects that are related to our work completely free of charge.

  • How can I pay?

    keyboard_arrow_down

We accept cash, bank cheques, EFTPOS, all major credit cards including American Express, AFTERPAY and ZIP Pay. However, please note that some payment methods may incur additional charges from the payment processor.

  • How long does the repair or replacement take?

    keyboard_arrow_down

Once we arrive onsite we complete windscreen stone chip repairs in about 15-30 minutes. Windscreen and other auto glass replacements including car windows, normally take around 1 hour.

Following the service, chip repairs usually require no waiting before driving. However, windscreen replacements usually require a 30min-1 hour wait time to allow the fast-drying adhesive to set.

  • How much does repair or replacement cost?

    keyboard_arrow_down

The total cost of repairing your damaged auto glass will depend on various factors unique to your situation. For repairs, it depends on how extensive the damage is. For replacements, it depends on your car’s make, model, year of manufacture, whether you want genuine or after-market glass, etc.

  • What happens if my windscreen cracks during the repair?

    keyboard_arrow_down

When we or anyone else performs a windscreen chip repair, there is a slight possibility of further cracking due to the pressure of the repair process.

If this happens it means your glass was not strong enough to tolerate a repair. If this unfortunately happens, we can assist you with a windscreen replacement quote.

  • What if my car has an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS)?

    keyboard_arrow_down

Metro Auto Glass uses the latest ADAS calibration equipment to re-calibrate your ADAS device after we replace your windscreen. This ensures your Advanced Driver Assistance System performs properly with your new glass to keep you safe on the road.

  • What if my car has rain-sensing wipers?

    keyboard_arrow_down

For chip repairs, your car will still retain this functionality. For windscreen replacements, your new glass must have the technology to maintain this rain-sensing feature. We provide this type of glass and will ensure all the electronics are connected and working before we leave.

  • What types of vehicles do you service?

    keyboard_arrow_down

We frequently repair or replace windscreens and windows for cars and trucks. However, we also provide these services for vans, utes, SUVs, 4WDs, prestige and luxury vehicles, classic cars, limousines, hearses, buses and all other vehicle types.

  • What’s the quality of the glass you use?

    keyboard_arrow_down

We offer the choice of genuine or aftermarket glass. All glass we provide meets Australian standard AS/NZS2080. Rest assured, we only use high-quality and reliable products from trusted manufacturers.

  • Where is Metro Auto Glass located?

    keyboard_arrow_down

We have a workshop that you can visit in Strathfield South. However, we also operate a mobile service throughout Sydney where we come to you and complete all work at your vehicle’s location. Please call us to arrange a free call-out or to schedule a repair at our workshop.

  • Will my glass be ‘as-new’ after a chip repair?

    keyboard_arrow_down

After a windscreen chip repair, you will always see a slight difference in the glass where the repair occurred. This means the glass will not be returned to its original condition like it was when brand new.

  • Will my insurance cover the costs?

    keyboard_arrow_down

This depends on your insurance policy. Most insurance companies offer windscreen protection cover. This means the insurance company will cover the cost of repair or replacement of the damaged glass. If in doubt please ask your insurer or talk with us.
