Allianz offers two main types of car insurance – comprehensive and third-party – as well as compulsory third-party (CTP) policies which will take care of any liability you may have after injuring other road users.

Comprehensive Car Insurance

Allianz’s comprehensive insurance policy will cover you for almost anything that may occur during normal driving.

You will be covered for damage to your own or other vehicles in an accident (in most situations), for loss, damage, or theft of your car, and for loss or damage due to natural disasters.

You will also receive free towing after accidents which is covered, rental car fees for up to 21 days after the theft, and a guarantee on authorised repairs, among other things.

Third-Party Property Damage

This policy covers any accidental loss or damage of someone else’s vehicle or property when you are at fault.

You will also be covered for legal costs related to a covered loss, legal liability when using a substitute car during vehicle repair or servicing, and accidental damage to your car when the other driver is uninsured (up to $5000).

Third-Party Property Damage, Fire, and Theft

As for the third-party property damage policy, but covers a number of other things.

These include a guarantee on authorised repairs, the costs of towing after an accident, and cover of up to $5000 when your car is damaged by fire or theft.

CTP

CTP, or compulsory third-party insurance, covers you for any legal liability you may incur due to injuries caused by you to other road users.

This includes injuries to your passengers and/or to other road users, as well as to people injured by a trailer attached to a registered vehicle.

Does Allianz Offer Windscreen Cover?

The short answer is yes, they do. However, they only offer this with their comprehensive car insurance policy, and only after you select this as an optional extra (it is not automatically included in the policy).

With that in mind, it is highly recommended that you take the option, as it will give you peace of mind and will probably save you a lot of money if your windscreen gets smashed or cracked.
